TEAM NORWAY OFFSHORE RACING
Team Norway is run out of Trondheim, Norway with pilot Kolbjørn Selmer. Team Norway is a part of the team around boat 90 Welmax in the Class1 World Powerboat Championship.
The team of pilots and mechanics in Welmax 90 come from various backgrounds and have different qualifications, and between us we have several years of experience from various motor sports.
A strong passion for offshore racing and other related sports is something that we all have in common. Speed, precision, timing.

Team Norway is prepared to meet all the challenges that arise when 2000 horsepower encounter the big blue.
The level of success depends on the ability to collaborate and communicate. .



Participants have to go through severe safety tests to get their license. In addidiont, there are standard security procedures before every race.

Kolbjørn Selmer in 90 Welmax

Kolbjorn made his first Class 1 appearance in Oslo in 2007, testing alongside Giampaolo Montavoci, before moving into the driver’s seat for his Class 1 race debut at the Romanian Grand Prix. In 2008 He drive alongside Giampaolo Montavoci setting one world speedrecord in P1 and one for Class1. His powerboat experience includes Poker runs, ProVee, V1 class, Class3 2 liter. Kolbjorn is a keen skier, motorbike and Downhill rider, the founder of the Trondheim Powerboat Club and was the Technical Organiser of the Class 1 Grands Prix in Trondheim in 2005. Kolbjorn made his first podium in the Romanian Grand Prix 2009 with two 3rd  and one 2nd place.
Finishing of the 2009 season with a total of 7 podiums, two pole position and five from the races.
Welmax 90 came 3rd in the overall world championship and 3rd in the Pole position championship.

Jorn is the defending Class 1 European Champion. Following a successful debut racing season in ProVee in 2004, taking two podium finishes and the Norwegian title, Jorn grabbed the European title a year later. He moved into Class 1 in 2005 as throttleman and team owner, taking his first podium at the Norwegian Grand Prix in Trondheim in 2005 and his first Pole Position win in Dubai. His first race win came in Arendal in 2006 and his second and third in Arendal and Constanta last year.
